Introduction
Whether you wear jeans/sneakers or a suit with a tie, high heels or Pataugas, don’t pay too much attention to that and present yourself in a respectful way to your interlocutor. Keep it simple and not exuberant. Try to use classic and simple terms. The presentation of the applicant does not in any way remove his professional skills but may suggest certain aspects of his personality to the recruiter. You only have one hour to convince him or her, so make use of all your talents. Women should wear skirt, suit or pants. Men should go with the classic suit and tie.
Your Behavior
Never go to a job interview feeling over-confident. Have confidence on your skills but limit yourself to talking about them according to what the job requires. Be precise, concise, relaxed (but not too much). Never adopt an aggressive attitude even it is provoked by the recruiter. Some recruiters like to test the reactivity of their applicants, so you should know how to avoid this trap.
Additionally, always keep in mind that you are the one who must convince and seduce at the same time. The seduction must also be sufficiently watered down so as not to fall into excess. Have confidence when you express your motivation.
The Job Interview
The recruiter’s role is to get to know you, but also to judge you, to know your motivations and to understand your professional aspirations. In this sense, you have to help him or her.
Know Yourself Well
The more you know yourself, the more relevant your comments will be. While building your career, you have learned, educated yourself, made yourself useful, so let all this be known, but be sincere and honest. Never lie, since the recruiter has the means to detect flaws.
Memorize Your CV
During a job interview, drawing a blank leaves room for doubts in the recruiter’s mind. Know how to answer all the questions, anticipate them as well as the reaction of your interlocutor. You must know your CV in detail and be able to explain each position, mission, experience, personality traits you wrote there. If you have to talk about personal issues, remember to always keep it to a professional context.
Use examples of situations in which you used your skills. You should also express yourself about any ability you didn’t specify on the cv and what you can bring to the company. Be proactive. Show ambition while keeping a certain reserve, a certain humility.
